Use of Cookies on our Platform
We use cookies to collect information about your online preferences. Cookies are small pieces of information sent by a web server to a web browser, which allow the server to uniquely identify the browser on each page.
We use, or may in the future use, the following categories of cookies on our Platform or in electronic communications sent to you:
Category 1: Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential to enable you to move around our Platform and use its features. Without these cookies, services you have requested—such as remembering your login details or saving your event registration information—cannot be provided.
Category 2: Performance Cookies
These cookies collect anonymous information on how people use our Platform. For example, we may use Google Analytics cookies to help us understand how participants arrive at our Platform, browse or use it, and highlight areas for improvement such as navigation, event registration flow, and user experience. The data stored by these cookies never contains personal details from which your individual identity can be established.
Category 3: Functionality Cookies
These cookies remember choices you make—such as the preferred mall location for participation, language, or distance category. They allow us to provide a more tailored experience and make your visits more relevant and enjoyable. For example, if on a previous visit you viewed the “Dubai Hills Mall” event details, we might use this information to display that mall’s schedule prominently when you return. The information collected by these cookies may be anonymised and cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.
Category 4: Targeting Cookies or Advertising Cookies
These cookies collect information about your browsing habits to make advertising more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advert and help measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign. These cookies are usually placed by third-party advertising networks and remember the websites you visit, sharing that information with advertisers. For example, we may use third-party companies to provide you with personalised event promotions when you visit other websites.
Category 5: Social Media Cookies
These cookies allow you to share content or activities from our Platform on social media such as Facebook, Instagram, or X (Twitter). These cookies are not within our control—please refer to the respective social media privacy policies for how their cookies work.
Managing and Deleting Cookies
If you want to delete any cookies already on your device, please refer to the help and support section of your internet browser for instructions on locating the file or directory that stores cookies. Please note that deleting our cookies or disabling future cookies may prevent you from accessing certain areas or features of our Platform. To find out more about cookies, you can visit:
- www.youronlinechoices.eu – contains further information about behavioural advertising and online privacy.
Third-Party Cookies
Third parties (including advertising networks and web analytics providers) may also use cookies over which we have no control. These cookies are likely to be analytical/performance cookies or targeting cookies.
Use of Web Beacons
Some of our web pages or emails may contain electronic images known as web beacons (also called clear gifs). These allow us to count users who have visited specific pages or opened certain emails. Web beacons collect limited information such as a cookie number, time and date of a page view, and a description of the page or email content. They do not carry any personally identifiable information and are only used to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
